The Community Rescue Mission, 310 North F Street in Ft. Smith, serves over 50 thousand meals a year, and is needing food donations for the holidays. You can drop food items by the mission anytime between 8am and 6pm. For information, call 782-1443.

November 17-24: Operation Christmas Child
Ft. Smith and Clarksville residents are packing shoe boxes with Christmas gifts for Operation Christmas Child. The boxes will be sent to suffering children around the world. CASA of the Tri-Peaks
Every year in Logan county alone, nearly 100 children are abused and neglected, and end up without a home to call their own. Although the numbers are alarming, CASA of the Tri-Peaks is helping to make a difference. The CASA(Court Appointed Special Advocate) positively impacts the lives of children as a trained volunteer who advocates in court on behalf of a child's best interests. The Community Rescue Mission
The Community Rescue Mission operates 7 days a week: there is no "closed" sign or downtime. They serve the River Valley daily. Last year alone, they served over 10,000 meals! The Mission is a place where no one will be hungry or without shelter. Reaching out to men, women and children, the residents hear the message of faith, hope and charity. Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council
The Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council is currently in the middle of a campaign to help women over 65 maintain good health through its "Strong Women" initiative. If you have an old bike that you would like to donate to someone, The St. Paul Bike Mission Ministry will pick it up and repair it and give it to a young person. The Bikes will be given to churches, charities and needy children.
